Prisca è un’artista Italiana, laureata in Arte e ama toccare qualsiasi materiale con mano; da qui nasce ogni sua idea, ogni sua creazione. Il suo lavoro infatti, non si limita ad un solo materiale: usa una tecnica polimaterica utilizzando legno, truciolato, compensato, pallet, tela, pelle, ovatta, cerniere lampo e diversi tipi di resine. Ma ha sempre un tema ricorrente che la contraddistingue: la cerniera lampo.

Ogni sua opera, dietro o davanti la tela, ha sempre una zip. Nascosta o ben visibile.

Per lei, l’arte ha mille sfaccettature e si trova ovunque. Ogni giorno, in ogni sua opera, sperimenta la tecnica con le zip, in modo da offrire al pubblico pezzi unici ed originali. Riconosciuta per le sue splendide barriere coralline, racconta il modo straordinario con cui possono essere utilizzate le cerniere lampo e come esse possano essere trasformate in arte.

Le opere dell’artista offrono un interpretazione pittorica estremamente personale, in grado di uscire  dai canoni più consueti delle proposte contemporanee e di coinvolgere e interessare gli osservatori. Lo stile maturo dei suoi pezzi è caratterizzato da un’accattivante ricerca formale ed estetica dovuta all’utilizzo delle zip.

Come mai l’artista ha scelto di utilizzare la cerniera lampo? Per l’artista la cerniera lampo è simbolo di apertura e chiusura mentale. Attraverso la cerniera lampo che esce dai quadri, come nei ritratti PopArt, l’artista vuole trasmettere il senso di apertura che va oltre il limite che impone la cornice, che va oltre il limite mentale. Il nostro io ci impone dei limiti, la società stessa in cui viviamo impone dei limiti…ecco che la massima espressione di libertà che l’artista cerca si manifesta attraverso le zip. E l’arte prosegue anche fuori dal quadro, sul muro, nello spazio. Le folte chiome dei ritratti cadono al di fuori del quadro, cosi continua l’idea di arte fino alla punta dei capelli.

L’artista dipinge figure riconoscibili, ma chissà se l’occhio di chi guarda, riconosce anche questo senso di apertura o si è già imposto un limite passando oltre?!?

Prisca is an italian artist, graduated in Art, she loves crafting any kind of material by hand; from here all her ideas and creations are born. Her works don’t limit themselves to only one material as she uses a polymetric technique, using wood, plywood, chipboard, pallet, canvas, padding, zippers and various types of resin. Nevertheless, she always has a recurring theme that distinguishes her: the zipper.

All her works, either in front or behind the canvas, always have a zipper; hidden or well visible.

For her, art has a thousand facets and is found everywhere. Everyday she experiments with the zipper technique so that she can offer to the public unique and original art pieces. Well known for her beautiful coral reefs, she tells the extraordinary story of how zippers can be used differently and how they can be transformed into art.

The artist’s work offer an extremely personal pictorial interpretation, capable of going outside the boundaries in comparison to contemporary art works – also managing to involve and interest the audience. The mature style of her pieces are characterized by a captivating formal and aesthetic research due to the use of zippers.

Why has the artist decided to use the zip? According to her, it is a symbol of open and closed mindedness. Making the zippers fall out of the canvas, like in her Pop Art portraits, the artist wants to transmit the openness that goes over the boundaries placed by the frame and the mind. We place ourselves limits, and so does the society we live in… hence the ultimate expression of freedom that the artist tries to transmit through the zippers. Art itself continues also outside the painting, on the wall and in space. The thick hair from the portraits fall outside the canvas, and so continues the idea of art up until the tip of the hair.

The artist paints recognizable figures, but who knows whether in the eye of the beholder, there is recognition of this openness, or a limit has already been placed by looking beyond?!?
